Actalent Test Engineer (Verification & Validation) in Quincy, Massachusetts
Responsibilities • Review requirements specification documents and develop test procedures. • Estimate, plan, develop, execute, and maintain manual test cases and test protocols for products under development. • Develop acceptance criteria and perform assessments after performance testing. • Work with project management to meet the testing milestones and deliver high quality solutions on time. • Ensure that FDA-regulated medical products are tested in adherence to the applicable standards, regulations (ISO 13485, IEC 62304) and best practices.

Qualifications • 10+ years of system testing experience. • 5+ years of experience with manual testing of software for hardware control or embedded systems. • Experience developing verification protocols and test reports. • Experience with regulated medical devices that contain software. • Experience in estimating, prioritizing, planning, and coordinating testing activities. • Experience with defect tracking systems. • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, science, or related discipline. Essential Skills • Strong hands-on test case and test protocol writing skills. • Thorough understanding of smoke testing, black-box, and non-black box testing, as well as regression testing. • Understanding of all phases of the Product Development Life Cycle. • Excellent troubleshooting of issues to drive towards the root cause identification and resolution of a defect. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. • Flexibility to balance multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to interact directly with clients and their market partners. • Must possess a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and initiative. Desirable Skills • Experience working with product development teams in early-stage hardware development • Experience working with real-time software products and networking products. • Lean methods, fixture creation or statistics experience a plus.
