Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as a member of multi-functional teams including surgeons, product managers, quality assurance, regulatory, and manufacturing to translate clinical needs into tissue repair solutions from concept to commercialization, ensuring alignment to project timelines and regulatory requirements.

  • Leverage CAD software, prototyping techniques, and feasibility studies to craft and iterate on implant and instrument concepts, considering factors such as biomechanics, material properties, and manufacturability.

  • Generate and maintain detailed design documentation, including design history file requirements, specifications, drawings, test protocols, and risk documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

  • Design and conduct feasibility and verification and validation testing to ensure design concepts meet user needs and design requirements.

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during product scale-up and transfer, addressing design-related issues and optimizing manufacturing processes.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and competitive landscape to advise product development strategies and find opportunities for innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.

  • 1-2 years of experience (can include internships and co-ops); experience in design and the medical device industry preferred.

  • Passion for innovation and a desire to make a positive impact on patient care.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in CAD software required (e.g., SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER)

  • Proficiency in MS Office software or equivalent (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Travel requirements: 5-10% within EMEA & US

For U.S. applicants, in accordance with applicable disclosure requirements, the anticipated base pay range for this position is $70,000-$98,000. The pay range is the anticipated pay range for the position to which you have applied, and that such factors, including but not limited to, internal equity and experience will be considered for any offer.
