Job Description

The Senior Manager E2E product planning is responsible for establishing efficient planning methods & parameters for the Supply Chain of the Spine portfolio of products. The role is responsible together with a team for identifying and addressing E2E plan imbalances via exception-based and scenario-based methodologies to achieve the most profitable balance of customer service, cost, and inventory across the Supply Chain.

This is a key global and cross-functional role in driving Spine performance to a higher level. The role supports design and drives improvements in E2E product planning and IBP maturity including financial integration, life cycle management, product segmentation, and scenario planning by aligning business partners and enabling technology.

A key area of accountability is also talent development and capabilities to deliver on the overall objectives for the Planning function and the business.

The role reports into the Spine & External Operations Global Planning Leader and will partner closely with Global Planning Leaders, External manufacturing supply teams, Commercial/Marketing, Regional Supply Chain teams, E2E Supply Chain and Value Stream Leaders to ensure that planning & execution and E2E plan trade-offs /decision making are consistent with platform objectives and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

Planning Optimization & Supply Chain Configuration

  • Optimize Planning Methods & Planning Parameters, establish segmentations, tolerances/triggers for alerts & customer concern,

  • Define inventory de-coupling points and develops replenishment strategies,

  • Set supply chain parameters in alignment with Jabil and external suppliers, e.g., batch sizes, make frequencies, safety stock levels, minimum order quantities, lead times, etc.,

  • Orchestrate E2E Plan imbalances (customer service, cost, inventory)

  • Drive structural Inventory Optimization (multi echelon), SLOB Management and optimization, and input to Financial Planning and Reporting process

Sense & Respond

  • Generate thoughtful alerts, identify exceptions across Network and support the issue resolution from planning standpoint

  • Assess exceptions for Business impact & categorize for critical issue (STEM)

  • Resolve issue & identify trends, Lessons Learned for continues improvement

  • Provide inputs for strategic capacity management across portfolio (near and medium term)

Scenario Planning

  • Actively participate and represent the Global Planning team in the IBP process

  • Connect the outputs of the Supply Review meetings (SRM’s), develop the E2E scenarios and resolutions, and translate these early warnings into the IBP processes to drive the right E2E trade-offs /decision-making process

New Product Introduction Planning

  • Optimize NPI planning hierarchy, parameters and Set based Planning systems

  • Supervise Demand/Supply/Inventory NPI plan and Supply Commits

  • Highlight and mitigate NPI planning risk through IBP process

Metrics

  • Report, supervise and highlight gaps to drive critical metric improvement (OTIF, CBO, Plan Attainment, Forecast Accuracy), Inventory (DOS, SLOB)

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field is required

  • An advanced degree in Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience is preferred

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in a healthcare or similarly complex, regulatory dependent Sector with growing levels of responsibility and demonstrated leadership track record in Supply Chain Planning & People Leadership

  • Proven business acumen of end-to-end supply chain principles with in depth Planning experience

  • Ability to work independently in a structured and determined way. Leading priorities and providing reliable results

  • Ability to influence director levels within the organization by using effective communication and presentation skills

  • Team leader-coach: ability to lead, encourage and grow diverse talent in a complex landscape in the execution, strategies, and realization of functional and business goals

  • ERP (SAP) and Sophisticated Planning Systems (APS/APO/OMP) in depth knowledge, high proficiency with Microsoft

  • Proven process experience in demand & supply, inventory management & inventory entitlement, scenario analysis, IBP process

  • Ability to challenge the status quo and evaluate processes to determine if refinements would improve speed of results and efficiency or quality

  • Experience working in a global environment

  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity, build positive relationships considering diverse perspectives and gain cross-functional support to deliver the strategy and objectives

  • Ability to translate sophisticated situations into simple working solutions

  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and work in a matrix environment where priorities change rapidly and tight deadlines exists

Preferred

  • APICS certification

  • Process excellence (Lean, 6sigma)

  • Proven track record to lead and drive operational improvement using process excellence tools

  • Good understanding of the product portfolio, the business processes and tools and the specific business challenges

Other

  • Occasional travel up to 10% may be required as business demands
