Bio-Techne Senior Manager, Stem Cell & Organoid Sales in Remote, Massachusetts

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Senior Manager to join our team and lead our Stem Cell and Organoid Sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building the vision and long-term strategy, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team. They will initially be responsible for supporting a territory while building the sales team and business. The portfolio includes specialized cell culture media, matrix substrates, proteins, antibodies & small molecule products. Market segments to target include Pharma, Biotech, CRO, Government, and Academia. Must have scientific knowledge and experience working with stem cells and organoids, a relevant advanced degree in the life sciences, and the ability to travel 50%+ across a defined West coast or East coast territory. Familiarity with immunology, cancer biology, or regenerative medicine is an asset.

Base Salary Range: $170,000 - $190,000 depending on qualifications and experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build a team of highly technical sales specialist, while providing interim territory coverage for the East or West coast region

  • Create and implement the long-term vision and strategy for a technical sales team to grow the Bio-Techne stem cell business

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technical sales professionals

  • Work cross-functionally with reagent sales, product management, and marketing teams to prioritize customer needs and inform product roadmap

  • Build strong relationships with senior leadership at key stem cell organizations, labs and KOLs

Interim sales specialist responsibilities:

  • Supports sales generation activities in the territory by working closely with the reagents sales team and providing technical support during customer visits, attending conferences, product shows and giving technical seminars

  • Partner with R&D and product managers to provide technical training to the sales team as needed

  • Drive growth of stem cell and organoid related products and implement Bio-Techne’s strategic plan and priorities

  • Travel 50%+ of the time to attend internal and customer meetings, visit customer locations, hold seminars etc.

  • Review scientific journals to stay current and be in the forefront of information that will assist in product and portfolio decisions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience building and managing high performing technical sales teams, who are collaborative, customer oriented, with the ability to motivate and lead by example

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to meet organizational goals and objectives

  • Highly technical and experienced working with stem cells and organoids with an understanding of how they are used in immunology, regenerative medicine and other relevant research areas

  • Excellent time and territory management skills and ability to coordinate meetings/seminars with broader sales team across west coast or east coast territory

  • Understanding of the organizational structure of pharmaceutical, biotech, academic and government segments, and is familiar with the regulatory landscape

  • Apply excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present technical presentations to small or large audiences

  • A strong team player mentality with a desire to work closely with the reagent sale team

Education and Experience:

  • Relevant degree in the life sciences, advanced degree preferred

  • 5+ years managing sales teams in the life sciences space

  • 5+ years technical sales in the life sciences space

  • Experience with stem cells and organoids is required, cancer biology, immunology or regenerative medicine is a plus

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams. Salesforce is a plus

  • Valid driver’s license required
