Job Description:
The overall purpose of this position is to oversee and organize the efficient and orderly flow and delivery of customer orders to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail and direct-store environment.
This role also is also responsible for providing the proper coaching, training, tools and communication for drivers to meet or exceed departmental and individual goals. Continually identify opportunities for process improvement.
Essential Functions:

Must be able to work Monday - Friday, 2:00 am to finish. Additional days/hours during peak periods are required.
This position is “hands-on” and may require driving and delivering of product as needed, as well as loading/unloading of trucks.
Coach, lead and develop drivers to support the organization and improve daily productivity and service levels through the execution of established driver performance management processes.
Coach for safe behaviors and compliance with safety policies and procedures while ensuring adherence to Department of Transportation and DVFG safety and compliance standards.
Where applicable, provide mentoring, coaching and development to the Transportation Supervisor.
Monitor current processes for continuous improvement to route productivity and key customer service levels.
Work proactively with sales representatives to understand the needs of the customers and sales Team while ensuring daily compliance with customer delivery time windows.
Management of all areas of Final Mile delivery including but not limited to route optimization, customer satisfaction focus, budgeting/P&L responsibility, and compliance with applicable DOT/FMCSA regulations.
Manage all spending within the planned budget inclusive of both direct expenses (route efficiencies and fleet expense) and indirect expenses (Non route labor, facilities expense).
Deliver effective change leadership, driving business changes while minimizing people impact.
Builds organizational capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, development, and communication.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position supervises Delivery Drivers and Transportation Supervisors (where applicable) and is responsible for leadership, performance management and hiring of the employees within its department.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a warehouse & office environment. This position frequently requires working in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure (heat and/or cold) during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. They position is highly active, requiring one to move about the office and warehouse environment where one would position oneself to maintain files or office supplies, occasionally enter and exit a vehicle, and constantly position self to move boxes or product weighing up to 60 pounds. The employee must have the ability to observe details at close range, and constantly operate a computer and other productivity machinery, such as copy machine and printer. This position may also expose the employee to various temperatures due to working both inside and outside.
Travel:
This position may require occasional travel to Corporate Office or other Distribution Centers and may require overnight stays.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Prior leadership experience required.
Familiarity and efficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point a plus. Payroll/Time and Attendance software.
The ideal candidate should possess the people skills necessary to address driver disputes, both customer request and dissatisfaction concerns and reassignments of workloads between drivers.
Must have an acceptable driving record and obtaining a DOT certification is preferred but not required.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task.
Demonstrate strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
Possess strong organizational and prioritizing skills.
Have a highly developed sense of urgency.
Must be able to adapt to change in a positive manner, and motivate employees through these changes, developing a Driver culture that will play a key role in reducing turnover.
Prior experience with DOT and OSHA Regulations
Must have experience with Routing/GPS Software
Prior experience with Fleet Management, including familiarity with light-duty and delivery vehicles, as well as rental/leased vehicles.
Must be able to use warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc. to assist in the loading/unloading of product trucks.
