Eversource Energy Supervisor, Technical Training in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts

Our Team:

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Gas Operations Training Team. In this role, you are responsible for all assigned technical training programs. This position develops and conducts technical training programs to ensure the safe and effective performance of Gas Operations and employees. Training includes both classroom and on-the-job training and would incorporate both conceptual and hands-on instructional methods.

Responsibilitieswould also include participation in testing and evaluation of new tools, materials, and equipment, the ongoing revision and maintenance of standards and procedures, conducting of quality assurance audits and supervision, evaluation and certification of trainees and trainings.

The role is based in Shrewsbury, MA

Essential Functions:

  • Works with field personnel and supervisors to analyze job tasks and current field performance to determine training needs and program content.
  • Tracking all tool calibrations for assigned technical training programs.
  • Schedules 3rd attempt OQ reviews.
  • Trains 4th attempt and subsequent OQ reviews.
  • Manages all tools and inventory for all assigned technical training programs.
  • Point of contact for operations in all assigned technical training programs.
  • Effectively implements training programs and field quality audit programs.
  • Supervises, directs and instructs trainees during classroom, hands-on and on-the-job training assignments.
  • Mentors new Technical trainers.
  • Evaluates performance during training.
  • Evaluates existing training curriculum for enhancement.
  • Develops new training curriculum
  • Provides updates and incorporates new procedures and revisions into training programs and reviews work with vendors, technical experts, engineers, field personnel to provide operational input into the selection and operation of new equipment and development of new construction standards and trainings.

Technical Knowledge/Skills

  • Requires knowledge of utility transmission and distribution system design, operations, maintenance, and construction principles and practices, safety standards and business processes.
  • Requires strong knowledge of I&R policies and procedures.
  • Requires strong knowledge of Meter Service policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to present theory and concepts, as well as hands-on technical instruction with clarity, confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Requires leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Word & Excel).
  • Working knowledge of labor contracts.

Education :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in Transmission, Distribution and/or Field Service design and/or installation, servicing customers and supervising employees

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s License, D.O.T. preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH on occasion.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position starts at $115,870.00 to $128,740.00 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
