Town of Somerset-Administrator's Office Laborer with CDL B in Somerset, Massachusetts
The Town of Somerset is accepting applications for Highway Department Laborer with CDLA. new hires will need to attain and maintain a CDL Class B license status as a condition of employment. Applicants must hold a high scholl diploma or equivalent as well as a valid motor vehicle driver\'s lincense. Good working conditions with occasional exposure to machine or related noise or unpleasant elements; such as fumes, dust, heat, cold, oil, etc. Includes work under typical construction/ maintenance conditions or outdoor work that is suspended when weather conditions are poor except for snow plowing and street sanding. Duties require sufficient manual ability using hands and power tools, moving objects and operating dump truck. Duties may require moderate physical effort and would include walking opr standing approximately half of the time. Examples: Dives medium to heavy equipment (trucks) and performs related tasks as required. Assist in the installation/ repair and/ or replacement of storm drainage pipes including patching and resurfacing. Performs routine street maintenance such as; filling potholes and patching. Keeps drainage ditches free of blockage during periods on intense rainfall. Plows snow and sands streets as required. REQUIREMENTS CDL B license must be maintained.
