Staples BDS Selling Solutions Advisor in Somerville, Massachusetts


Position Summary:

Responsible for providing exceptional customer service and driving sales while creating a positive and productive environment for our customers and associates.

General Purpose:

Customer Service, Total Solution Selling

Role Qualifications:

Position Responsibilities:

  • Engages customers to understand their needs and present product and services solutions

  • Presents solutions across a broad range of product, including Computing, Printing, Office Supplies, Furniture, Ink & Toner, and Paper

  • Maintains and applies knowledge of technology products and services through required trainings and certifications as well as self-development

  • Support the store Customer Development program through generating and handing off customer leads

  • Respond and resolve customer requests and concerns

  • Provide an inviting environment for the customers by maintaining a neat and clean department

  • Adhere to all company policies procedures & safety standards

  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including merchandising and stocking


Basic Skills Required:

  • Able to engage and speak to customers

  • Able to work a flexible schedule; including nights, weekends and holidays

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly and climb ladders

  • Ability to stand and move about for extended periods of time with only brief periods of sitting

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Selling and customer service experience
