The Culinary Coordinator assists with the Arts Council Nibble Entrepreneurship Program---a cultural culinary economic development initiative. The employee focuses on culinary, cultural, and workforce development with a primary responsibility in the outreach and educational operations associated with Nibble Kitchen, as well as cultural programing for the public. Nibble Entrepreneurship Program (NEP) Conduct NEP outreach efforts to find Nibble participants and create program awareness Liaison with local organizations and businesses like Connexi?n, USMS, Union Square restaurants, local shared kitchens, and city departments like Somerviva regarding recruitment, crosspollination of programs, and researching opportunities for our entrepreneurs Support Kitchen Manager/Nibble Coordinator to structure, launch and run series of workforce development workshops Coordinate translation services as needed Communicate with participants and collaborators (potential teachers & students, consultants etc.) to cultivate program with close attention to cultural concerns Work with Kitchen Manager and Cultural Director to customize entrepreneurs? educational experiences finding specific resources, mentors and checking in with them regularly to assess progress and give feedback Oversee Promotion and Marketing Handle promotion: post classes on SAC site, EventBrite, Nibble blog, press releases, Facebook, Instagram Oversee special promotional projects like creating brochures, videos for Nibble and for entrepreneurs? fledgling businesses Provide guidance for entrepreneurs on promotion for their own businesses/brands Other Cultural programming responsibilities Help organize, curate and run Nibble?s international market tours in Union Square Work with Cultural Director to support Nibble mission within the larger context of Union Square?s cultural economic development Coordinate Nibble cultural events, whether at Nibble Kitchen/Bow Market or within other SAC festivals/programming, with a focus on nurturing and developing the cultural components of Nibble Kitchen Support and other Nibble responsibilities Organize & maintain Nibble files (all electronic and paper records) Support Kitchen Manager/Nibble Program Coordinator by providing occasional back-up in kitchen relating to vending, cooking classes and farmers markets Other duties as assigned Recommended Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Associates Degree or equivalent and one to three (1-3) years of food service, economic development, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. ServeSafe preferred although not required.
