The Business Unit Local Business HR Head, Global Public Health (GPH), the Lung Cancer Initiative at Johnson & Johnson, World Without Disease Accelerator and Global External Innovation (GEI) Strategy and Operations, will actively support business leaders to drive the talent agenda and business results through Coaching, Talent Management, Organizational Design, Change Management, and Business Collaboration. They will address complex organizational challenges by providing HR leadership in support of local business goals, enterprise, and sector HR strategies. The BU Local Business HR Head Global Public Health (GPH), the Lung Cancer Initiative at Johnson & Johnson, World Without Disease Accelerator and Global External Innovation (GEI) Strategy and Operations, is responsible for managing the HR work for the assigned client groups within their team and ensuring the delivery of an integrated HR strategy for their respective client organization by establishing priorities, aligning resources and managing the implementation activities of the local HR team. Key Responsibilities Include: Business Intimacy:
Member of governance body for the Country/Business including HRLT
Partner with BUHR Sector/Function Heads to define cultural, engagement and change initiatives and implementation plans
Work closely with the Business Leadership team and leader to provide coaching, talent support and organizational support
Gather feedback & input from the business on needs and effectiveness of deployed plans
Drive HR strategy and support enterprise HR strategy, programs, policies for their business area and leadership team.
Develop and deploy the HR strategy for the business supported in their country, aligned with the Global Sector strategy. HR strategy also aligned with the HR, Business and Global Services, HR strategies.
Partnership with the Business leaders to develop the HR strategies required to support the business.
Anticipate, manage, support, and sustain change with agility
Building Organizational Capacity:
Deploy global/standardized HR strategy in partnership with local Business leaders to drive the achievement of business objectives in the following areas: organizational design, succession planning, career management, performance management, and workforce planning
Manage the portfolio of HR work in support of business goals, enterprise and sector HR strategies
Play a consultative role in employee communication in change initiatives within client groups
Instill cultural discipline to ensure global deployment of core processes and program across the sector/region
Create, shape, and apply meaningful strategies that meet long- and short-term goals
Use business and market insights to support, advise on, and identify solutions
Driving Talent Agenda:
Instill cultural discipline to ensure global deployment of core processes and program across the local geography
Access and derive insights from HR Dashboard of talent analytics to inform talent strategies in the development of diverse leadership talent and technical capability across the business
lead the strategic talent and diversity agenda for these organizations, partnering directly with each of the respective leaders and their leadership teams.
Embrace and practice a digital mindset through encouraging and role modelling the use of technology
Drive a strong culture through application of organizational development interventions, coaching and business partnership with leadership
Lead geography HR team, either through direct reporting or through matrix, as needed
Coach, advise, and facilitate effective decision making through collaboration and expertise
A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required.
A minimum of 8 years of Managerial experience coaching and leading talent is required.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR or HR related experience is required.
Strong leadership skills are required; must operate as a global leader with understanding and appreciation for business differences.
Experience managing, planning, and implementing projects and strategic change initiatives for sustained impact is required.
Analytical and strategic thinker with ability to create integrated global HR solutions to support enterprise goal, in alignment with global HR strategies is required.
Must have strong executive presentation skills; can speak across various forums and communicate to broad, diverse audience,
Experience supporting multiple business functions and working in various industries, preferably within large, complex organizations is required.
Experience of driving strategic change to meet changing business needs, and exploring new business models is required.
Strong MS office and related talent management technology tools skills are required.
Influence, shaping solutions, negotiation and consultative skills are required.
Ability to understand and integrate internal and external business drivers and financial metrics to drive talent outcomes for the business is required.
Experience developing high performing, diverse, and sustainable internal and external talent pipelines is required.
Experience collaborating with broad a range of leaders integrate HR solutions, balancing voice of local customer, external trends, short- and long term needs to achieve business goals is required.
External presence in field of expertise; experience shaping external strategies is required.
Must have the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely, and able to respectfully question and/or challenge others to think through problems, improvement opportunities, solutions, and plans.
Must be a Team leader with a proven commitment to build a positive and inspiring work environment, especially during times of change.
This position can be based in any J&J Site in New Jersey or Boston Innovation Center which is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
This position may require up to 35% travel.
