SOUTH DEERFIELD Foam CAM Process Technician The Foam Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) Process Technician, you will be responsible for driving the efficiency and optimization of machine utilization within the foam department. This role will be pivotal in maximizing equipment performance and productivity by creating and optimizing CAM programs in collaboration with the CAM team to include but not limited to blueprints. Serves as a liaison between the CAM team and Operations, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on production goals. Focuses on material preparation, nesting, and reducing machine changeover time, all while streamlining processes to enhance overall operational efficiency. JOB DUTIES Utilize software to develop cut files for water jet and CNC router equipment while considering design complexity and ensure optimal breakdown of components for cost purposes, clarity of assembly, and other critical factors. Review daily production schedules to strategically plan for the efficient usage of materials and optimize the performance of manufacturing equipment. Utilize software to generate detailed integrated programs that intelligently arrange and pack parts on the available material, minimizing unused space, and reducing the total number of machine setups required. Operate vertical/horizontal saws, slabbers, water jets, CNC routers, and other specialized equipment to obtain proper cuts and pieces with minimal or no waste. Work closely with the production team to analyze real-time data, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and implement innovative solutions to streamline workflows and minimize downtime. Collaborate with engineers, operators, and cross-functional stakeholders to continually explore ways to enhance equipment utilization, reduce waste, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Configuring and download files to water jet and CNC router software control ensuring the cutting machinery operates precisely according to the desired specifications. Takes verbal and/or written instructions and follows blueprints, Bills of Material (BOM) and/or assembly drawings. Break down engineering prints/drawings into components that best utilize stock materials and allow assembly operations to be performed in the most efficient manner. Troubleshoot and analyze water jet and CNC router operational controls and hardware. Select the appropriate stock material and precisely cut to proper dimensions and tolerances. Monitor material cut-offs and remnants accumulation as part of foam reclamation standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate\'s degree or equivalent experience Must have a minimum of (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment Minimum (2) years of Solid Edge/Solid Works CAD programming experience Working knowledge of CAD modeling and Drafting Principals Must have blueprint experience to include but not limited to interpret blueprint and accurate measuring skills. Working knowledge of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system. SAP preferred.
