SOUTH DEERFIELD Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of basic preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment. work under the supervisor of mechanics and leads. Performs a range of semi-skilled grounds maintenance responsibilities including removing and installing concrete, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, paint, and carpentry work on buildings, furniture, equipment, machines, and grounds. JOB DUTIES Performs repairs and preventive maintenance on roofs, furniture, equipment, machinery, appliances, and air conditioning systems. Performs preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment including lubricating, inspections, testing. Disassembles, cleans, and replaces damaged or worn parts of equipment, machinery, and appliances. Performs plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, paint, and carpentry work on buildings, furniture, equipment, machines, and grounds. Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follow safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job. Performs additional duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED required. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic systems. Basic construction/building skills include removing and installing concrete, wood and metal framing, installation of drywall. Good communication and interpersonal skills Basic knowledge of plant and machine safety Must have good math skills and the ability to work with measurements and ratios. Must have some basic computer skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent One year of experience in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Actively supports and complies with Pelican\'s objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement. Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels. Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager. Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice. Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers). While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be frequently required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch). Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Performs a variety of basic preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment. work under the supervisor of mechanics and leads.
