Eversource Energy Manager, Emergency Preparedness (Resource Acquisition and Logistics) -Hybrid in Southborough, Massachusetts

*This is a hybrid role.  The first three months are fulltime in the office*

The Manager, Emergency Preparedness Logistics will lead and manage the development of an effective and comprehensive logistics response program. This individual is responsible for ensuring the logistical needs of the company are met prior to, during, and after an emergency, including planning and aligning the resources of the operating companies.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures all logistical needs are in a state of readiness, including Stores, Transportation, Environmental, food & lodging, facilities, mutual aid, storm technology, temporary staging and satellite areas.
  • Develops practical solutions to support the emergency plan.
  • Ensures contractual agreements and procedures are in place to execute logistics in support of emergency operations.
  • Conducts site visits and determines unique requirements for each location (area work centers, staging areas, mutual aid on-boarding locations).
  • Develops /ensures emergency contingency contracts to support emergency response.
  • Builds partnerships with other emergency management professionals, especially in the areas of logistics planning.
  • Develops standard logistical processes and procedures to support electric and gas business units.
  • Coordinates and provides tri-state training summits and exercises.
  • Communicates in writing and verbally in a clear, effective and timely manner, under both routine and emergency conditions, with all involved in emergency restoration efforts.
  • Provides direction to direct report(s).

Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable work practices and procedures and safety requirements.
  • Working knowledge of information technology.
  • Thorough knowledge in logistics from procurement to deployment of resources is strongly preferred.

  • Change management skills to effectively pave the way for needed changes and ability to manage the implementation of same.

  • Ability to build relationships with a variety of people both up and down the management hierarchy, including officer levels.
  • Capacity to make sound decisions, solve problems creatively, and provide leadership.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytic skills to identify process gaps and recommend necessary changes for improvement.
  • Capability to work well under pressure.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s degree in Emergency Management is preferred.

Experience :

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience.
  • Emergency Preparedness and/or response experience is desirable.
  • Logistics experience is strongly preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid Motor Vehicle License required.
  • Six Sigma or equivalent is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $143,140.00 to $159,040.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
