The Aerospace Advanced Technology organization has an immediate opening (located in Southborough Massachusetts) for a Principal Systems Engineer. The selected candidate will advance technologies supporting fuel cell technology maturation and transition from R&D to production organizations within Advanced Technology and the Engines & Power Systems business. This is an exciting time for an experienced engineer with project management experience to join the Honeywell Advanced Technology team and is a great position to showcase your skills in a highly visible role.
Key Responsibilities
Guide mechanical, electrical, and software teams in maturing and transitioning fuel cell technologies into leading-edge UAS products
Grow and mature understanding of all aspects of the technology in service of protecting it throughout the design process
Apply product development experience and knowledge of efficient manufacturing techniques to meet the emerging need for improved UAS systems
Contribute to the education, motivation, and orchestration of the growing UAS product development team
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
10 years of experience in engineering
20 years of experience in Computer Aided Design
WE VALUE
Advanced Engineering Degree or PMP certification
Advanced knowledge of 3D modeling techniques and be well versed in component documentation including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Design for manufacturing experience, versed in the selection of appropriate production methods based on part requirements and anticipated production volume
Extensive direct experience in the design of injection molded, sheet metal, and machined components.
Risk Management, experienced in the assessment of design risk and have a proven track record of developing effective risk mitigation strategies
Planning, ability to enumerate the steps associated with maturing a product design and accurately estimate the resources and timeline for the effort
Regulatory compliance, experience identifying relevant regulatory standards and charting strategic pathways to compliance.
Prototyping, ability to build and test his designs in service of understanding design readiness and improving manufacturability
Proven track record of meeting technical, schedule and budget commitments while satisfying internal and external customers
Experience in project engineering or program management
Relevant experience in proposal preparation and new business development
Action-oriented, self-starting approach with ability to decompose overall goals into detailed action plans
Strong problem-solving skills
Self-motivated, empowered, team leader with proven track record of working effectively across geographic and cultural boundaries
Strong leadership, interpersonal, presentation, written and oral communication skills
Able to positively influence others, and resolve conflicts quickly and tactfully
