MassMutual Business Systems Analyst in Springfield, Massachusetts

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join the Wealth and Distribution Technology Team. In this position, you will support key initiatives impacting our wealth management business including providing consultation and analysis to business stakeholders on requirements for new and existing reporting packages and dashboards and, also, defining the translation of domain data models into subject area views that tie into the data governance model.

We are a cross-disciplined technology team that partners closely with our advisor focused distribution channel. We provide exceptional IT Services, including consultation, project planning and management, business analysis, design and development and quality assurance. Our team leverages a broad set of business knowledge and technical skills leading quality delivery of solutions that enhance the financial professional experience.

The Impact

  • Provide consultation and analysis to business stakeholders on requirements for new and existing reporting packages and dashboards.

  • Use business acumen, communication, leadership skills to develop and document business requirements and data relationships of varying duration, size, and complexity.

  • Elicit, translate, and simplify requirements, decompose high-level business and user requirements into well-written requirements or user stories.

  • Analyze and validate business systems, data document technical requirements, and business/technical process flows.

  • Ensures projects are consistent with design system guidelines and reporting platform application best practices.

  • Partners with program managers and the product owners to execute the delivery roadmap for their stakeholders.

  • Participates in all phases of the development life cycle including requirements gathering and analysis, design, build, test, implementation, and continuous service.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Technology, Computer Science or a closely related field

  • 8+ years business and data analyst experience analyzing data and supporting software development from variety of production systems and data platforms

  • 3+ year experience in Database/SQL experience/SQL expertise

  • 1+ year experience and knowledge of ETL and Datawarehouse concepts and processes

Ideal Qualifications

  • Former technical experience is preferred, such as working with data engineering / science / analytics teams or experience developing and/or deploying

  • Prior experience working with tools like MicroStrategy, Tableau, and Qlik

  • Ability to isolate and elicit expected vs. actual experience and recommend the best course of action to address

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, coordination, requirement gathering and planning skills with cross functional teams

  • Special combination of technical skill and business acumen, along with a high degree of confidence

  • Logical reasoning and deduction skills (ability to connect the dots)

  • Skilled in applying judgment to balance process compliance with achievement of business objectives

  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented

  • Outcome oriented with the ability to drill down from the big picture to process details

  • Ability to communicate objectives, plans, status, and results clearly

  • Ability to understand and translate business needs into technical requirements

  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and organizations

Salary Range: $115,900.00-$152,100.00
