CAMP STAR ANGELINA SUMMER NURSE Position Purpose/Summary Responsible for ensuring all Camp STAR Angelina campers and staff registrations including medical information is reviewed prior to program startup and for providing medical support for program participants & staff for the duration on the camp program season. Essential Functions Prior to camp start, review all camper and staff medical & registration forms for medical information and compliance with Massachusetts Department of Public Health day camp standards. Administer, document and submit all treatment to campers and staff as needed. Assist in coordination of communication between Camp STAR Angelina and camper regarding medical treatment, questions and/or additional information. Advise Therapeutic Recreation Coordinators on whether the program can meet the specific medical needs of the campers. Inform staff of specific needs of campers, medical conditions and adaptations. Provide medical support for campers with medical conditions that require skilled nursing attention in addition to all other campers & staff as needed. Attend field trips as required Report any and all medical concerns to the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinators. Performs related work as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must have a valid license to practice as a Commonwealth registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician\'s assistant, or a licensed practical nurse. Ability to provide medical assistance and/or support for program participants and staff. Ability to work as part of a the Camp STAR Angelina staff team including but not limited to Therapeutic Recreation Coordinators, Therapeutic Program Director, and Aquatics Staff. Ability to demonstrate compassion, understanding, acceptance when working with campers, families and staff. Ability to express oneself clearly through written and verbal communication. Education and Experience Current valid license to practice as a Commonwealth registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician\'s assistant, or a licensed practical nurse. Three years of responsible professional experience in school nursing or a related field preferred.
