JOB DESCRIPTION The Career Counselor - Job Placement position is responsible for providing a broad range of services to jobseekers in their job search, and as needed recruitment, eligibility determination, screening, enrollment and support to job seekers wishing upskilling training programs. The position also develops relationships and collaborates closely with designated training providers and others in the workforce development ecosystem. Duties may include: ** Connect existing Career Center customers to training opportunities ** Utilize data to recruit customers ** Meet with and assess the needs of Career Center customers, including career aspirations, current skill level, any future training needs, and personal preferences. ** Assess customer\'s fit with training programs to ensure enrollment readiness ** Support customers by answering basic questions and making direct connections to training partners as needed ** Assist customers in navigating resources ** Refer customers to support services before and after training enrollment to ensure access to support programs (mentorship, housing, childcare vouchers, etc.) ** Provide customers post-placement support ** Develop expertise on training providers in area ** Records data on customer interactions QUALIFICATIONS ** Bi-lingual language skills (English/Spanish) highly desirable. ** Bachelor\'s degree preferred, preferably in counseling, social work or a human services field. In some cases, experience may be substituted for education. ** Three or more years of experience working in counseling and/or case management; knowledge of job search, career planning and development is desirable. ** Detail oriented, with customer service, coaching and problem-solving skills. ** Strong writing, verbal and listening skills; proven presentation skills to facilitate workshops. ** Ability to execute multiple priorities, in a fast-paced environment; ability to work with a diverse population. ** Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word and PowerPoint). ** Demonstrated reliability and dependability. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Annual salary for this position is \$42,000 - \$46,200.
