Western New England University Coordinator of Procurement Services in Springfield, Massachusetts
The Coordinator of Procurement Services is responsible for managing the procurement and payment of both goods and services as well as maintaining the vendor records for Western New England University to ensure optimized purchasing power and accurate timely payment. This position is responsible for purchase order management, vendor negotiations, authorization of purchase order payments and the supervision of the Procurement Services staff overseeing the processing direct vouchers for payment. The position also administers and monitors the purchasing card program, including training for card users. Ensures compliance with all state and federal purchasing requirements. The Coordinator of Procurement Services maintains a professional relationship with the campus community, outside vendors and other universities. Assist and guide the campus community in University policies, procedures and all State and Federal regulations. The Procurement Services office is a deadline driven fast paced environment. Candidates should possess knowledge of purchasing and contract negotiations, understanding of general accounting practices, ability to coordinate work of staff, strong customer service skills, clear communication skills, organizational and time management skills, willingness to embrace change, personal initiative and proficient in Excel and Word. An ideal candidate should have a background in higher education. Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field. Minimum of two years' experience in higher-education procurement and contract negotiations, or five years' experience in purchasing.
