Maintenance Worker Job Location - Springfield, MA Position Type - Full-time Salary Range - \$18.00 - \$21.75 Hourly Job Shift - Full-time Description At Way Finders, we are passionately invested in lifting up the region\'s people, places, and systems. Way Finders is looking for four Maintenance Workers for a growing department. This role will report to the Maintenance Manager in our Housing Support Services program and will consist of completing and assisting with apartment turnovers. The workers must be able to work in a compressed timeline while maintaining high standards. They will perform duties for units that are currently occupied by homeless families in shelters. The candidate will work fully in-person at assigned units in Hampden County. Responsibilities include: Complete and provide assistance with apartment turnovers: trash and furniture removal, cleaning (sometimes heavy), painting, screen replacement, smoke and carbon monoxide detector installation, and minor repair work Accept furniture deliveries in a timely and professional manner, and set up furniture as needed; prepare units with necessary miscellaneous items to welcome new families into shelter Complete all work orders in a thorough and timely manner Assist with property/building inspections Show apartments/buildings to various inspectors and other officials, exterminators, and contractors as necessary; work alongside external partners as required and appropriate Report challenging turnovers to management in a timely fashion and collaborate on solutions, e.g. unemptied apartments, pest problems, abandoned pets Requirements include: 2 years\' equivalent experience, preferably in apartment turnovers; a high school diploma (or equivalent) may substitute for some experience Ability to effectively collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds Basic computer skills including reading and responding to electronic work orders Working knowledge of building and mechanical operation equipment and repairs Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team Ability to conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner Valid driver\'s license and acceptable driving record; reliable vehicle CORI Benefits include: Generous paid time-off \| 12+ holidays annually \| Health, dental, and vision insurance options \| Educational assistance \| Medical Reimbursement Account \| Dependent Care Account \| 403(b) retirement plan with employer match \| Life insurance \| Short-term and long-term disability insurance \| Transportation benefits \| Employee Assistance Program \| Annual staff picnic!
