Mercy Medical Center a member of Trinity Health of New England is looking for a Medical Staff Office Coordinator / Credentialing Specialist to join our Medical Staff Team. This person is responsible for planning, implementing and oversight of medical staff credentialing for appointment, and privileging of physicians and providers. This position is responsible for daily operations of the medical staff office including committee meetings and assisting in the researching and development of privileging criteria. The coordinator will also assist with medical staff events and functions.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Timely, accurate, and confidential credentialing process for appointment of all medical staff categories.

  • Close communication with the Administration, Chief Medical Officer and other Officers of the Medical Staff, Department Chairs and Directors, and appropriate hospital personnel to ensure follow through with various credentialing.

  • Maintains, monitors, and updates confidential medical staff information system on a regular basis.

  • Coordinates medical staff activities and acts as liaison between the medical staff, including all areas and administration to ensure the administrative responsibilities of the medical staff are met

Work Hours/Shift:

  • Full-Time, Monday - Friday

Minimum Requirements :

  • High school/GED, Associates preferred

  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible credentialing experience.

  • Experience in a hospital medical staff office as a Medical Staff Coordinator Credentialist, or similar preferred.

  • Understanding of medical staff regulatory and accreditation standards required CPMSM or CPSC Certification preferred.

  • Experience with standard Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Comprehensive knowledge and experience with Midas+ Seeker credentialing database required and Meditech database required.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules in a fast-paced office with multiple deadlines and frequent interruptions.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Discretion and judgment in the handling of confidential and/or sensitive information.
