The Center for New Americans Part-time ESOL Teacher in Springfield, Massachusetts

SPRINGFIELD - Part-time ESOL Teacher Center for New Americans seeks an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher for our preliteracy and beginning level morning classes in Springfield. Classes are partly in person and partly online and also include asynchronous work. Successful candidates will have experience teaching at the literacy and beginner level in person and on zoom. Our classes meet Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30-10:30 AM. Teachers work 10 hours per week which includes teaching, preparation, and hours for meetings and administrative tasks including attendance data entry. Compensation is \$27.30/hour. Successful candidates will: have a TESOL certificate and/or equivalent degree; have experience teaching adult ESOL students in a community-based setting including beginning-level and pre-literate students and experience with differentiation for a range of learners; have experience integrating technology into ESOL instruction, and teaching ESOL online using the Zoom platform; have experience planning lessons which align with DESE (the Mass. Department of Elementary & Secondary Education) MA ELPS and following a Scope & Sequence; be open to peer mentoring and close collaboration with other teachers, program advisors, and volunteers; assess and document students\' participation and progress.
