New Creation Child Care Center Program Director in Springfield, Massachusetts

TITLE: Center Director for New Creation Academy Springfield QUALIFICATIONS: - BA or AA degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and two years teaching experience or a CA Children?s Center Instructional Permit and /or a CDA plus five years teaching experience - Must have a Department of Early Education and Care / Office of Child Care Services Group Child Care Certificate, OR transcript - verification of experience - Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural - Fundamental computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and the internet) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - 3 credits in Child Development - 9 credits in Early Childhood Education - 2 credits in Day Care Administration - 2 credits in Early Childhood Education - verification of experience - Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural - Fundamental computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and the internet) - Must have the required work experience WORK EXPERIENCE - 36 months of experience if you have a High School diploma. - 27 months of experience if you have a certificate. - 18 months of experience if you have an Associate degree. - 9 months of experience if you have a Bachelor degree. Occupation Description A. Plan, direct, or coordinate the academic and nonacademic day to day activities of NEW CREATION ACADEMY SPRINGFIELD 1. Enroll new children, hire teachers, assistances and workers according to protocol, prepare and maintain attendance, activity, planning, accounting, or personnel reports and records for officials and agencies, or direct preparation and maintenance activities. (by using the systems and programs provided by the Academy). 2. Confer with parents and staff to discuss educational activities and policies, and students' behavioral or learning problems. 3. Responsible for the creating of lesson plans, setting educational standards and goals, and help establish policies, procedures, and programs to carry them out. 4. Monitor students' progress and provide students and teachers with assistance in resolving any problems. 5. Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate primary and supplemental staff, and recommend personnel actions for programs and services. 6. Determine allocations of funds for staff, supplies, materials, and equipment, and authorize purchases. 7. Direct and coordinate activities of teachers at Academy and teach classes when needed 8. Review and interpret government codes and develop procedures to meet codes and to ensure facility safety, security, and maintenance. 9. Coordinate transportation for Academy and all outside events of the Academy. 10. Responsible for planning menus and meal. 11. Attend Community meetings. 12. Create fund raiser for the center. Knowledge of: 1. Personnel and Human Resources - Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems. 2. Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services for staff and parents. This includes students-parents needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of students-parents? satisfaction. 3. Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources. 4. Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. 5. English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
