Mercy Medical Center a member of Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Receiver Dietary to join our team of mission-driven healthcare innovators. Our vision is to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to those within our local communities, creating a positive impact for each individual that walks through our doors.Our new colleague is responsible for Performing a variety of manual and clerical duties relating to the receiving, storage, and distribution of all products used by the Nutrition Department. Assists in the ordering and inventory-taking functions of the department.

Work Hours/Shift:

  • Full-Time, 37.50 hours

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Exceptional Patient Care: Contributes to the overall quality of care by maintaining sanitation and organization of all storage areas.

  • Excellent Communicator: Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin, colleagues, patients, and family members.

  • Technical Familiarity:Executes proper delivery of all incoming food and non-food products to the Nutrition department, verifying weights, counts, and quality of the product. Checks delivery invoices against orders to assure that all items ordered were received.

  • Active Teamwork: Engages members in various teams and management levels in a positive manner


  • Requires the ability to read and write English and perform simple math. Six months of experience in a food service receiving type position is required.

  • Ability to operate food service scales and pallet jacks. Ability to evaluate product quality. Ability to organize and maintain a FIFO food rotation system.

  • Constant lifting of heavy items weighing up to 80 lbs. required.

  • Consistent reaching, turning, twisting, and pushing and pulling of pallets of product with pallet jack required.

  • Working in refrigerated walk-ins and freezers required on a daily basis.
