At Mercy Medical Center the Med/Surg Unit provides quality care primarily for adult patients before and after surgical procedures. Coordinating healthcare plans with the team, administering medications, as well as educating patients on their surgical procedures. Our work ethic is the cornerstone of all we do at Mercy Hospital. What you will do

• Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager assists in managing unit personnel and the nursing unit environment.

• Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assist with hiring and terminating staff, evaluating, and mentoring staff competency, and assuming budgetary responsibility.

• The position requires promoting a healthcare culture that values growth and input from frontline staff and requires an empowered leader who facilitates the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education : Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN graduate preferred.

• Licensure : Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Massachusetts.

• Certification : BLS (AHA/ARC). ACLS within three months of hire.

Preferred Skills:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN degree preferred.

• Experience: 2 or more years’ experience in Acute care, Medical-Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry required. 1 or more years of management/supervisory experience, such as charge nurse, preferred.

Work Schedule : Full Time 36 Hours-12 Hour Shifts Nights, Self-Schedule no weekends requirements.
