Baystate Health Registration Training Specialist in Springfield, Massachusetts

Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for providing training needs analysis, developing training courses and materials, and delivering training programs for both for all Baystate employees requiring skills in registration, check-in functions and customer service in select settings. Conducts quality monitoring, and coaches employees for improved performance. Completes skills assessments and assist Training Specialist II or Manager in creating training developmental plans. Participates in assigned special projects and implementations. Facilitates group and individual training sessions. Demonstrates platform and facilitation skills and techniques utilizing a variety of methods including seminars, case methods and role play. Completes training assessments. Designs courses, develops training modules, schedules and conducts training sessions. Assesses effectiveness of training. Maintains training materials to ensure that they are current and the methods are contemporary.      

Job Responsibilities:

1) Supports the application training needs of Baystate Health personnel performing scheduling and registration activities. Develops training materials and conducts regular classes in applications supporting these activities

2) Collaborates with Professional and Organizational Development to create and conduct customer-service focused sessions

3) Supports health system registration, scheduling, check-in, operations associate, admitting personnel in all aspects of training. Conducts and coordinates mentor program. Develops materials and conducts department-wide in-services. Conducts specialized and/or specific registration system training for staffs across Baystate Health as requested .

4) Assists Training Specialist II and/or Manager in analyzing departmental quality assurance results and develops appropriate training to improve performance. Coaches for improved customer service. Provides constructive feedback to improve performance. Collaborates with cost center manager to identify any deficiencies in skills and create developmental plans

5) Participates in assigned projects and implementations. Duties may include data collection, testing, training, and providing go-live support to the end users. Supports departmental management in process redesign activities for our internal customers. Provides consultative expertise for process analysis and training initiatives, including projects in other departments where their expertise may be required. Provides testing and training support to Information Services for implementations of new applications or upgrades of registration and scheduling systems. Participates in interdepartmental initiatives for quality improvement. When assigned, acts as project lead to ensure project team training goals and objectives are met

6) Develops training courses and materials. Ensures training materials are current. Proficient in development of web-based training module.

7) Conducts regular classroom training in all systems and related subjects required for registration and check-in functions including but not limited to: Envision, Patient Registration, CB (check-in), Insurance Concepts, DaVinican, Health Pay 24, Surginet (check-in),E-Signature, First Net, First Net Downtime, Label & Wristband, Allscripts.

8) Participates in assigned projects and implementations. As directed, may act as project lead. Application implementations or upgrades. Access call-processing implementations. Integrated testing. Interdepartmental quality initiatives/ redesign projects.

9) Other duties as assigned

Required Work Experience:

1) Minimum 3 - 5 year experience in registration systems

Preferred Work Experience:

1) Working knowledge of insurance, managed care, Medicaid and Medicare regulatory requirements

2) Working knowledge and experience using Cerner Invision and Cerner Rev Cycle Registration Platforms.

Skills and Competencies:

1) Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel and registration experience
