MassMutual Security Automation Technician in Springfield, Massachusetts

The Opportunity

MassMutual Security Administration is currently looking to fill the position Security Technician . The role will perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities consisting of coordinating, planning, and installing a range of security technologies to include CCTV, and access control and intrusion detection systems. This position will report to the Head of Security, within MassMutual Security Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects to deliver successful implementations by meeting project requirements and adhering to industry and company standards

  • Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure availability of materials and equipment

  • Interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and schematics

  • Participate in on-site progress meetings and provide updates to account managers

  • Identify risks and provide specific solutions and recommendations to stakeholders on most time and cost-efficient methods

  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in assessing and troubleshooting of issues and problems

  • Inspect quality of finished projects to ensure conformation of all specifications and requirements

  • Program and test installed security systems and train stakeholders as required

  • Continually learn new products & technologies, upgrades and software programs related to electronic security systems

  • Always represent MassMutual Security in a professional manner

  • Abide by OSHA regulations and use protective equipment as required

The Minimum Qualifications

  • MA System Technician low voltage license

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the security technology industry

  • Experience with completion of manufacturer’s training in S2, Bosch, Axis, and Pelco

  • Familiar with industry standards for ADA and life safety codes

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to travel for site visits

  • Flexible schedule including on-call response

  • Strong knowledge of security concepts and technology platforms; video, access control, intercom, intrusion, visitor management, and network connectivity

  • Knowledge and practical experience with Networking systems

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good verbal, and written communication

  • Must be able to work independently or on a team

  • Ability to manage and motivate teams with proven leadership experience

  • Capability to exercise sound judgment and find effective solutions
