Site Coordinator- MLK Charter School Division: Youth Services Reports to: Director of Youth Programs Time Commitment: Part-Time: Program Hours M-Th 2pm-6pm, F 1p-6p Pay Rate: \$20/hr Location: MLK Charter School Position Summary: The Site Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning and operation of the site\'s afterschool, vacation camp and/or summer camp program for school aged participants ages 5-13. The Site Coordinator ensures full compliance with EEC licensing requirements and city/ state safety standards. Site Coordinator is primarily responsible for program design; providing leadership, direction, training, and support to on-site staff and volunteers; creating a culture of achievement and developing meaningful relationships with children and families. Responsibilities: Basic Supervision and Programming: Create and maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and engaging after-school atmosphere aligned with the program\'s mission and values. Design and implement a comprehensive program of activities that reflect the social/emotional and instructional tone of the school day. Supervise and provide leadership to site-based staff, ensuring a collaborative and positive team environment. Collaborate with the after-school team to establish effective flow patterns, transitions, and safety protocols. Coordinate enrollment lists and schedules, facilitating participation in classes and activities. Operations: Establish efficient systems for accurate enrollment, attendance, and billing. Coordinate and ensure smooth logistics for basic care, activities, snack distribution, and closing procedures. Maintain program spaces and equipment cleanliness and ensure compliance with school and EEC policies and procedures. Maintain inventory of supplies and order new supplies as needed Communications: Interact with parents, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing program updates. Facilitate information sharing among staff to support effective discipline and behavioral support for students. Act as a liaison with school to coordinate use of shared spaces during after-school hours. Professionalism and Teamwork: Model professionalism when interacting with students, parents, peers, and the community. Maintain punctual and consistent attendance. Provide regular feedback to staff for continuous improvement. Foster a strong program culture among staff, children, parents, and the community. Other Functions: Educators working 20 or more hours per week shall complete a minimum of 20 hours of professional development activities per year. Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications: Must have at least one of the following: A Bachelor\'s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, Sociology, or Child Care; AND 2 years of experience working with school age children. A Bachelor\'s Degree in any field or an Associate\'s Degree in any field of study AND have 2 years of experience working with school age children A high school diploma or equivalent AND have four years of experience working with school age children. Minimum of 1 year experience supervising staff and prior experience in leadership and team management MS Office and web proficiency required. Ability to effectively operate a computer and programs used by the program. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior. Ability to work independently and as a team, providing supervision of line staff and interns.
