Baystate Health Solutions Architect in Springfield, Massachusetts

Summary Description:

This position is accountable for strategic analysis and design of the corporate infrastructure and systems. Including Voice Network, LAN/WAN, Storage, and Compute. Guarantee timely, efficient, accurate and uninterrupted service in support of an Integrated Delivery System. The position accomplishes the above through a combination of planning, technical analysis and design, and technical management of systems functions consistent with Baystate Health System policies and procedures.

This position is accountable for primary control and efficient utilization of services and infrastructure. The candidate will possess an extensive IT background in current technologies including telecommincation, networking, and cloud computing along with the ability to work independently on projects from inception to completion, working closely with vendors and internal clients and other I&T staff.

This position recommends solutions, services, and procedures for utilization technologies and also monitors compliance of said standards. The incumbent provides production guideness through troubleshooting and problem resolution. He/she maintains service levels consistent with agreements.

Job Requirements:

1) This position is responsible for planning functions in support of the following areas:

Voice Network, LAN/WAN, Storage, and Compute.

Review of current and emerging technologies.

Upgrades to software and hardware.

Analysis and proposal of changes in anticipation of future needs.

2) This position performs analysis and design functions. Makes recommendations and ensures the adherence to standards.

3) This position performs technical management and administrative functions in the following areas:

To maintain high levels of throughput, adequate security of sensitive functions and applications and efficiency of resource utilization.

Monitors utilization to insure adequate capacity.

Disaster recovery, daily backup and production support plans and procedures, tuning and testing adequacy on a periodic basis.

4) The incumbent must exhibit strong communication skills since he/she is required to communicate across multiple levels and across both Client and technical communities in a consulting role. Providing written documentation of environments, procedures for accessing and modifying configurations is an important part of this position’s responsibilities.

5) Consult with users and other technical staff in determining appropriate application and hardware configurations and support. Recommends voice hardware and software technologies in an effort to solve complex business problems. Provide training in voice issues and procedures to Clients, management and other technical staff.

6) The incumbent participates in technical committees responsible for development of corporate standards and procedures relative to systems environments. Also may participate in committees charged with specific objectives to improve and/or recommend changes to physical plant, policies or procedures affecting microcomputer technologies.

7) The incumbent participates in and/or leads projects as assigned by thier Manager. The principal challenge of this position is to design, manage and administer corporate standards, support changing business needs and balance technical constraints and benefits, in a cost effective and consistent manner.

Preferred Experience:

Incumbent should possess 10-15 years experience within the industry.

Skills/Competencies:

Due to the production support requirements of this job, this position may require the incumbent to participate after normal business hours and on weekends on a regularly scheduled basis. Incumbent must possess an extensive knowledge of but not limited to server hardware, operating systems, software structure and design, telecommuncation concepts and design, and overall system architecture. Incumbent must possess strong PC hardware and software skills. Incumbent must possess knowledge of Voice Mail and Call Center systems, Storage environments, Application design, and other technologies. Incumbent provides level 3 support for Client Support Services.
