SUMMER ENRICHMENT SITE NURSE Position Purpose/Summary Responsible for ensuring all Summer Enrichment participants registrations including medical information is reviewed prior to program startup and for providing medical support for program participants. Essential Functions Review all applicant registration forms for medical information. Document and submit all treatment to participants. Contact parents/guardians by phone regarding questions and/or additional information. Advise Program Coordinators on whether the program can meet the specific needs of the participants. Inform staff of specific needs of children and medical conditions. Rotate between sites daily according to schedule created by the Program Coordinators. Provide medical support for participants with medical conditions that require skilled nursing attention in addition to all other participant needs. Attend field trips as requires. Report any and all medical concerns to the Program Coordinators. Performs related work as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must have either LPN or RN nursing certification. Ability to provide medical assistance and/or support for program participants. Ability to work as part of a team including teachers, paraprofessionals and assistant homework coordinators. Ability to demonstrate compassion, understanding, acceptance when working with participants, families and staff. Ability to express oneself clearly through written and verbal communication. Education and Experience Current valid license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Massachusetts. Three years of responsible professional experience in school nursing or a related field.
