Human Resources Associate About the Company: F.H. Peterson Machine Corporation is a modern precision machining job shop that has been servicing the defense, power generation, aerospace, satellite optics, food service and many other manufacturing industries since 1957. We provide contract machining services to a diverse customer base. Our employees include highly skilled tradesmen in the industry with an average term of employment of fifteen or more years with our company. We machine small quantities of diversified parts that range in size from the size of a pencil to over 13,000 lbs. machined to meet our customer\'s specifications in an air-conditioned facility. Key responsibilities: * The Human Resource Associate will be responsible for all phases of recruiting/hiring including posting for open positions, communicating with recruiters and interviewing candidates. * Conduct disciplinary verbal and written warnings (working alongside our supervisors) on an as-needed basis. This will involve anything from showing up late to not working well with others, poor performance or quality issues. * Annually, working alongside the shop supervisor, begin employee written reviews in September to be completed by the second week in October. * Monitor new employees for anyone that has reached the approval rating for possible merit increases or a review of any kind. * Working with our HR partner, AIM (Associated Industries of Mass), research and rework our current Benefits and Policies manual. * Maintain and periodically update job descriptions and job postings. * Attend local trade school Advisory Board Meetings twice per year and school-based Job Fairs as they occur. (We currently have Advisory Board relations with Old Colony, Bristol Plymouth, Diman and possibly Southeastern Regional) * Maintain or improve our current apprenticeship program, invoke new candidates when eligible, and monitor the progress of current candidates. Work with local workforce investment boards, or the state directly to obtain grants etc. to supplement the pipeline of candidates to be nurtured in the program. * Write Newsletter articles on demand by management, or employee input. * Update notices at main timeclock, (labor laws, etc.) and contribute to the company\'s information board for employee notification. Requirements: * Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred. * 3-5 years\' HR experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. * Energized, proactive, self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team setting. * Strong interpersonal, communication skills (verbal, written, presentation), with a professional and approachable demeanor * Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced changing environment. * Strong technical aptitude with high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint/ SharePoint/ Outlook). * Adaptable to change and the ability to prioritize, manage tasks and meet timelines. * Trustworthy and able to maintain strict confidentiality. Pay \$59,000-\$64,000 a year, commensurate with experience. This is an onsite day shift, 30 - 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday schedule, 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM with flexibility.
