At Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD), you have the opportunity to try new things and make a bigger difference across a broader end-to-end solution, a richer technology and product set, an expanded range of disciplines, a growing global footprint and a more diverse team of colleagues and customers.Job Summary:The System Design & Architecture (SD&A) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within RMD, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).Our Systems Engineers use engineering and math skills to define the architecture of the system (the “pieces” and how they interact), the performance and functional requirements of the system (what the system must be capable of doing and how well), the subsystem design and requirements (what components are needed and how they must perform), and the integration of the components into the overall system.Responsibilities to Anticipate: Our Systems Engineers use engineering and math skills to define the architecture of the system (the “pieces” and how they interact), the performance and functional requirements of the system (what the system must be capable of doing and how well), the subsystem design and requirements (what components are needed and how they must perform), and the integration of the components into the overall system. Specific job responsibilities will likely include search/track/discrimination algorithm development, performance assessment trade studies, and analysis of sensor signal and data processing. Systems Engineers use MATLAB regularly to conduct data analyses. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and in a team environment.

  • (Freshman Technical or Administrative Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program

  • (Sophomore Technical or Administrative Intern)- must have completed 30 credit hours by start of internship

  • (Junior Technical or Administrative Intern)- must have completed 60 credit hours of college by start of internship

  • (Senior Technical or Administrative Intern)- must have completed 90 credit hours of college by start of internship

  • (Post-Graduate Technical or Administrative Intern)- must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in majoring in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related technical field.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

  • Leadership or participation in college campus organizations, athletics teams, or community service groups

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA

  • Relevant work or project experience in algorithm design, requirements development, software/hardware integration and configuration management

  • MATLAB experience

  • Programming experience in modern computer programming languages (JAVA, C++, C)

  • Engineering project, internship or co-op experience

  • Authored Technical Papers and / or Technical Presentations

  • Educational background or interest in the following areas:

  • Radar Architecture and or algorithms

  • Signal Processing and Control theory

  • Model based engineering and architecture

  • Statistics, random processes and detection methods

  • Imaging / pattern recognitionData filtering and processing techniques (e.g. Kalman, batch, optimal)
