Role Overview

As a Business Adoption Principal System Administrator, you will collaborate and partner with a diverse cross-section of Digital Technology, Engineering, and Program Management teammates supporting RTX’s programs across the Enterprise-Wide Area Network (eWAN) to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. This role will involve the adoption or migration of program environments onto the eWAN across a geographically diverse enterprise network.

This position can be located in Tewksbury MA or Tucson AZ. We offer relocation.

Please note that this position needs an active U.S. DOD Secret Security Clearance as of day one of employment. Except in rare cases, only US Citizens are eligible for US Security Clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment. 

  • Work closely with program transition leads to gather requirements and create execution plan for the adoption or migration of the environment.

  • Understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. 

  • Experienced in building, configuring, maintaining, and deploying systems in an enterprise environment.

  • Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.  Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems.

  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree in and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an associate degree and 10 years of relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Experience in multi-site OS environments.

  • Experience building, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting Linux in a multi-site enterprise environment.

  • Experience with Active Directory and related technologies (Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS, DFSR, replication, Site topology, certificates, Kerberos, LDAP, and native AD tools).

  • Experience with MS technologies (BitLocker, PowerShell, IIS, etc.)

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting skills for configuration, automation, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience troubleshooting Redhat and Windows desktop operating systems including Windows 10/11.

  • Experience with Active Directory integration of non-Windows operating systems, applications, and devices.

  • Must have an Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ansible playbook development and deployment experience.

  • Strong Linux automation knowledge.

  • Operating systems and technical certification.

  • Azure administrator certification.

  • Strong documentation skills.

  • Experience with Quest Change Auditor & Quest Migration Manager.

  • Virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere.

  • Strong leadership skills and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Desire to learn new skills and troubleshoot issues.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with geographically separated teams.

  • CISSP, CASP or equivalent certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of starting.

  • Familiarity with the National Industrial Security Program ("NISP") and the National Institute of Standards and Time ("NIST") Risk Management Framework ("RMF").

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
