State of Massachusetts Clinical Informaticist in Tewksbury, Massachusetts

Tewksbury Hospital, part of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), is seeking a dynamicRegistered Nurseto join our team as aClinical Informaticist. In this role, you will collaborate with clinical leaders and stakeholders to develop electronic documentation strategies, optimize clinical decision-making, and improve patient care quality. Your proficiency in clinical informatics will be essential in building, modifying, and testing clinical information systems, as well as creating comprehensive training plans and materials for clinical staff. By maintaining a deep understanding of our EHR capabilities and integrating clinical applications seamlessly, you will play a key role in advancing our healthcare technology infrastructure. As a Clinical Informaticist, you will engage in major projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and the launch of new functionalities. Your ability to translate clinical needs into technology solutions will support the development of effective processes and protocols. You will also be instrumental in providing detailed informatics reports and analyses to inform clinical practice and policy decisions. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with diverse clinical disciplines, contribute to hospital committees, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, all while driving the advancement of high-quality, patient-centered care through innovative clinical information systems. Employees in this position will be required to perform mandatory overtime /_Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_/ · Collaborate with Public Health Hospitals and Department of Mental Health stakeholders to support the system-wide clinical information systems and applications strategy. · Maintain an in-depth understanding of the capabilities and integration details of clinical electronic health record (EHR) systems and applications. · Adhere to the approved change control process, ensuring all necessary application approvals. · Participate in clinical applications committees at the hospital and Public Health Hospitals System (PHHS). · Engage in major projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and new technology launches, providing subject matter expertise. · Assist in developing and executing test plans for clinical application implementations, including system downtime and recovery procedures. · Translate clinical processes and requirements into technology solutions, documenting and analyzing clinical and operational workflows. · Create and deliver user training materials and in-person training sessions in collaboration with the applications implementation team. · Develop and analyze clinical system reports to inform practice effectiveness, quality of care, and make data-driven recommendations to leadership. · Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, including HIPAA regulations, and act as a resource for clinical staff on information security and role-based access. /_Required Qualifications:_/ · Knowledge of the principles and practices of nursing including clinical policies, procedures, standards, and protocols. · Ability to plan and conduct training in clinical informatics including working knowledge of training methods and techniques. · Ability to understand and apply the laws, rules, and regulations governing agency operations and assigned unit activities. · Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare general and statistical reports. · Ability to analyze and determine the applicability of medical data, to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. · Ability to maintain confidentiality. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. /_DPH Mission Statement:_/ The mission of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is to prevent illness, injury, and premature death, to assure access to high-quality public health and health care services, and to promote wellness and health equity for all people in the Commonwealth.
