Scope of Position:

As the Division PEx leader, you will be responsible for coordination of all Performance Excellence efforts across the division. We look for you to work with the Division PEx Champion to establish, maintain, and measure the PEx performance across CLS worldwide. This will include implementation of PEx strategy, coordination of metrics and training, and monitoring of projects for CLS manufacturing sites worldwide.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and facilitate division level PEx Community of Practice meetings - Assist in develop and implementation of the long-term strategy for Process Excellence for the Division and Plants, to drive continuous improvement in our processes.

  • Establish metrics to monitor divisional PEx improvement and to create action plans to move sites forward in their PEx performance.

  • Lead division level PEx improvement programs (i.e. COQ, PQA).

  • Ensure all employees in the plants are trained in Process Excellence tools, as appropriate to their job functions. This includes a training needs assessment, providing training resources, and assessing effectiveness.

  • Coaching of Black Belts and Green Belts in the organization, as needed.

  • Plant liaison to corporate and division Process Excellence initiatives.

  • Support the rigorous use of data and analysis in our experimentation and validation activities.

  • Lead and own the Kaizen program, fostering the continuous improvement culture in the plants.

  • Project leader for division Six Sigma projects as needed.

  • Process Excellence strategy development and implementation.

Travel Requirements:

  • Maximum of 25% with some international travel

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Standard business hours; Monday – Friday.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field.

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in areas of Six Sigma, Lean or other Problem-Solving methodologies such as Kepner Tregoe in a manufacturing industry.

Required Skills:

  • Green Belt certified.

  • Applied knowledge of statistical analysis including histogram, Pareto, correlation, hypothesis tests, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Capability analysis and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).

  • Applied knowledge in Lean concepts such as value chain, flow, pull and tools commonly used to eliminate waste, including kaizen, 5S, error-proofing, value-stream mapping, etc.

  • Applied knowledge of quality engineering principles such as Voice of Customer (VOC), Voice of Process (VOP), risk analysis, control plans, sampling plans, financial proforma (verification of cost impact) and good documentation practices.

  • Proficient technical writing skills.

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Black Belt certified preferred.

  • Strong Statistical analysis skills preferred.

  • Familiarity with ISO quality standards.

Soft Skills:

  • Organized, multi-tasking with excellent planning and project tracking skills and high level of attention to detail.

  • Change agent - Able to effectively lead a diverse group of people and motivate / influence at all levels of the organization to change.

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills (written and verbal) required.

  • Self-starter, passionate about engineering and have a high level of technical curiosity.

  • Leadership – sound judgment, collaborative and confidence in leading small and large groups.
