Covenant Health is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Reimbursement Accountant to join our Financial Planning and Analysis team. As a Reimbursement Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial stability of our hospital entities by managing Medicare cost reports, tracking statistics, and responding to reimbursement-related inquiries. Responsibilities:

  • Medicare Cost Reports: Handle the entire process of Medicare cost reports, including data collection, filing, and interfacing with the Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) during audits.

  • Data Accuracy: Act as the "Source of Truth" for hospital-related statistics, accumulating and reporting stats on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

  • Reimbursement Analysis: Calculate the impact of reimbursement changes from Federal, State, and Private payors, providing insights and recommendations to the organization.

  • Communication: Respond to reimbursement-related questions from all levels of the organization, ensuring clarity and accuracy in financial matters.

  • Team Collaboration: Assist other team members in maintaining the cost accounting system, preparing the annual budget, and creating financial pro forms and analytics.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • Strong understanding of Healthcare reimbursement and Medicare regulations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
