Raytheon Technologies Technical Project Lead - Test Equipment Design and Development in Tewksbury, Massachusetts
Raytheon Missiles & Defense seeks a highly motivated, hands-on engineer for a technical project lead position in the Test Development Department (TDD).
A technical project lead is responsible for overseeing the design, development and deployment of Test Equipment.
Typical responsibilities include the financial oversight of labor and material spending, providing technical direction to engineers, and reporting project status to peers and program leadership. This role requires the application of technical and leadership skills to ensure that project milestones and deliverables are met, and that technical challenges and risks are properly communicated to leadership.
TDD is responsible for leading and executing multiple diverse technical projects across a broad spectrum of DoD programs. We are seeking engineers who have (i) applicable technical expertise (ii) demonstrated experience leading a technical team or have the desire to do so. Technical and/or financial project management experience is desirable for this role.
TDD is a cross functional team of multi-disciplined engineers who enjoy being a part of the entire product development life cycle. TDD works with a wide variety of assembly levels ranging from CCA to sub-assemblies to full systems. You’ll join a hands-on development team that fosters engineering excellence and creativity, and takes pride in seeing the end product in the hands of the customer.
Be a part of a diverse project team responsible for the design, deployment and sustainment of test solutions for radar, sonar, communication, missile, and combat control systems. Projects emphasize flexible and scalable capabilities including efficient, automated product handling.
Test Development Life-Cycle:
Review product test requirements
Design of hardware and software including mechanical fixturing
Support internal or external builds
Validate test system
Training and sustainment including global travel opportunities
Department Areas of Expertise:
System level design
High speed digital
National Instrument Hardware and Software Test Platforms
(PXI, LabVIEW/TestStand/LabWindows/CVI programming)
High Voltage Design
Legacy Test Station Troubleshooting
FPGA Firmware Design
Text based (e.g. C, Python, Java) Coding
Embedded computing (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, PLC)
6+ years of experience in the development/design of test equipment
Experience working with EVMS tools
Demonstrated technical leadership experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date.

Experience with National Instruments’ TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW

Experience with commercial test and measurement equipment
VHDL and embedded system design knowledge
Software applications / programming skills
Understanding of engineering processes: CMMI, 6 sigma
- B.S. in STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)
