Raytheon's Mechanical Engineering Directorate (MED) provides engineering design, integration and production to a wide range of hardware in Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). The Platform Integration Department leads mechanical design, development and integration of platform systems. This includes truck/trailer shelter systems hardware integration, cable & interconnections, as well as facility & site integration. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise in hardware design, integration and production support. Job Description : MED's Platform Integration Department is seeking a professional candidate for a Technical Support Engineer II to work within the Mechanical Computer Aided Design (MCAD) section. MCAD section performs preliminary design, detailed design, release to production, fabrication and assembly & integration cross multiple product lines. The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Using preliminary sketches, diagrams, and other engineering information to generate 3-D design models and/or conceptual layouts. Executing the detail design, working with design leads, or leading the completion of the Technical Data Packages (TDP) for mechanical subsystems Working within a team environment to develop innovative mechanical subsystems Experienced with solid modeling practices and drawing creation using CAD tools such as Creo Parametric, Solidworks, or equivalent General knowledge of fabrication processes, capabilities and limitations US Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. This position can be an G07 or an G08 based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibilities required for the position. Required Skills: 2+ years experience in developing mechanical documentation using CAD software Experience with mechanical design applications and fabrication processes Experience with applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M-1994 Experienced with Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint US citizenship Desired Skills: Ability to collaborate in a team environment Experience with Creo Parameric CAD tool Experience with AutoCAD Experience with Windchill 10.0 PDM link or equivalent configuration management system Knowledge of MIL-STD-31000, ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.100 Self motivated and results oriented Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple tasks Ability to obtain a clearance Required Education: B.S. in Engineering Technology or equivalent (each two years of related experience can substitute for one year of education) What’s YOUR Mission?
