Wellforce UC COVID Navigator in Tewksbury, Massachusetts

The COVID-19 Testing Navigator performs both clerical and clinical tasks necessary to schedule, collect and report out COVID-19 results for Urgent Care Patients. This role will take the lead in overseeing scheduling of patients for COVID-19 testing at all four Circle Health Urgent Care clinics and the UC Mobile testing site.

Must also manage phone calls to and from patients as well community physicians about testing. The Navigator performs services in a designated area according to the policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives of the department and Circle Health organization. The position requires a high level of organization, multi-taking, and clinical skill necessary to perform COVID-19 testing collection. The Navigator must demonstrate superior customer service skills that exceed patient’s expectations.

Hours: 32 hours per week, Day Shift

Duties:

  • The COVID-19 Testing Navigator is responsible for performing all job duties in both the clinical and clerical positions

  • Receive incoming calls from patients and providers for inquiries about or scheduling of testing

  • Provide calls to patients or community providers with test results. In addition, send out any necessary written results in accordance with HIM Policies and Procedures

  • Collect and prepare any necessary COVID-19 specimens

  • Order, prepare and replace any necessary testing supplies

  • Provide education to patients per organization policies and procedures

  • Completes and reviews charges

  • Work with outside organizations that require testing for residents or employees (in collaboration with the Occupational Medicine Navigator and UC Managers).

  • Schedule patients in the Cerner scheduler

  • Collaborate with the Lowell General Hospital Central Scheduling Department, Patient Access Department and LGH COVID-19 testing tent to ensure seamless flow of patients throughout the organization maximize efficiency and ensure excellent customer service

Requirements:

BLS required

Medical Assistant Certification preferred

HS Diploma or GED required

Completion of Medical Assistant vocational program preferred
