Kelly Services Welder in Tewksbury, Massachusetts

Kelly Services in partnership with our Tewksbury, MA customer are searching for experienced Welder with a temp to hire flexible schedule .

Performs welding on stainless steel, repetitive weldments and structural pieces following prescribed procedures where fit ups are made by others and/or parts are positioned in fixtures. Requires limited technique and basic welding fundamentals. Use rule, templates and fixed gauges. Work is subject to final inspection. Must have knowledge of FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) procedure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs fixture fit-up assembly work.

  • Flux core arc welding.

  • Holds, positions and reads tape measure to assist in layout.

  • Places and moves blocking, braces and jigs to hold parts.

  • Grinds or chips weld slag, rough edges, surplus weld, or scale.

  • Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle.

  • Responsible for first piece inspection and every ten percent thereafter.

  • Responsible for the safe operation of material handling equipment.

  • Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment.


Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Required to pass welding performance assessment, weld symbols and basic blueprint reading assessments. The welding assessment must meet AWS minimum requirements.

The hours are flexible and the pay is between $22 - $25/hr. Apply today for immediate consideration.
