The Home for Little Wanderers Assistant Director, Clinical Services-Bonus Eligible in Walpole, Massachusetts

Assist the Director of Clinical Services by providing clinical supervision for Clinicians, Clinical Coordinators at The Home in Walpole. Collaborate with fellow program and campus leadership to provide support, guidance, and training to clinical and milieu staff. Collaborate internally with referral review teams to support the screening and interviewing processes at the above programs to ensure a steady flow of eligible youth to these programs. Oversee services and treatment plans of the youth and their families to ensure they are high quality and are consistent with the goals of the program, the Home’s overall approach to treatment and the youth’s treatment needs.

How You'll Be Making a Difference

  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services in overseeing the intake and discharge process and ensure all appropriate paperwork and all data entry is completed and delivered in a timely, efficient manner for The Home in Walpole and Clifford Academy programs. Maintain program census and ensure program is following relevant agency guidelines.

  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services in managing third-party billing and insurance issues for all billable services.

  • Assist with the assignment of cases to staff and monitor the caseload level and maintain a small caseload.

  • Maintain the utilization review process. Ensure quality assurance standards are met regarding treatment planning, record keeping and documentation in the form of paper charts, EHR records and the Virtual Gateway. Monitor the treatment of all youth in relevant programs.

  • Participate in clinical conferences, IEP meetings and administrative team meetings. Serve on agency committees as needed.

  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services in ensuring services are coordinated and integrated. Regularly evaluate services and implement plans, with measurable outcomes, for continual improvement.

  • Establish, maintain and nurture working relationships with community agencies, and federal, state, and local agencies to ensure a steady flow of eligible youth to programs.

  • Provide regular one-on-one supervision to key team members such as Clinicians, Clinical Coordinators and Permanency Coordinator. Ensure regular feedback and guidance is provided for employee development and enhanced productivity. Administer the performance evaluations and performance management process.

  • Assist the Director of Clinical Services in the selection and termination of staff. Promote a positive work environment.

  • Establish, review, and implement program(s) policies and procedures. In consultation with Clinical Director and Campus Director, continuously consider new processes and initiatives to improve and/or expand services as appropriate.

  • Provide trainings within The Home’s network of Congregate Care programs on areas of expertise.

  • Facilitate case consultation where there is a need.

  • Participate in developing and implementing the annual operating budget for the program(s). Monitor performance against approved budget allocations, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary. Communicate with Clinical and Campus Director on issues related to budget or budget requests.

  • Participate in crisis prevention and intervention as needed.

  • Provide program leadership in the absence of the Clinical Director and or Campus Director

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work, mental health or related discipline plus independent licensure (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) and 5+ years clinical leadership experience required

  • Proven leadership and management experience in a multi-disciplinary setting required

  • Five years program-specific clinical experience

  • Knowledge of children with complex psychiatric illnesses

  • Must have experience in treating youth who have a history of complex early-childhood trauma or mental health differences

  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications
