Verify and process all habes received from the court. Schedule all court trips in the Inmate Management System (IMS) and arrange transportation with the central transportation unit; Ensure all the appropriate paperwork is received back from the court on all inmates who are returned from external court trips; Schedule all zoom and/or videoconference hearings for inmates housed at Cedar Junction; Verify and arrange transportation with the central transportation unit for outside medical trips for MCI-Cedar Junction; Create, update and/or track inmate six-part folders; Prepare inmate six-part folders and mitts for transfers; Conduct Deduction from Sentence (DFS) audits on the six-part folders monthly; Ensure all released inmate folders are dead-filed and processed to Central Records according to policy; Collect, log, and track all inmate identification documentation; Must have the ability to contact federal, state, and/or local agencies to gather or relay information on a case-by-case basis; Provide administrative support by coordinating and monitoring office and personnel related functions and activities to ensure efficient unit operations and compliance with established standards; other duties as assigned. Comments: This is a Civil Service position. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement. The Massachusetts Department of Correction shall not hire anyone who may have direct contact with offenders, who has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison or other institution as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997; or has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse, or has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described in the above paragraph. The agency shall consider any incidents of sexual harassment in determining whether to hire anyone who may have contact with offenders or residents First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days. Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in office work, of which (B) at least one year must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity, or (C) and equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below: I. A diploma as evidence of graduation from the commercial or business course of a recognized high school or vocational/technical high school may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.* II. A diploma as evidence of graduation from a course other than the commercial or business course of a recognized high school or vocational/technical high school or possession of a Massachusetts high school equivalency certificate may be substituted for a maximum of eight months of the required experience.* III. A diploma for completion of a one year, full-time, or equivalent part-time, program in a recognized, non-degree granting business or secretarial school above the high school level may be substituted for a maximum or one year of the required experience.* IV. A diploma for completion of a two-year, full-time, or equivalent part-time, program in a recognized, non-degree granting business or secretarial school above the high school level may be substituted for two years of the required experience. Education toward such a degree or diploma will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
