State of Massachusetts Clinical Social Worker (D) in Waltham, Massachusetts

The Charles River West Area Office of the Department of Developmental Services is seeking a LICSW, Social Worker for the position of Clinical Director. The Area Office is located in Waltham and covers the 5 cities and towns of Waltham, Watertown, Belmont, Cambridge and Somerville: serving 1200 adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Clinical Director will provide clinical supervision to the Area Office while providing direct supervision to the 3 Human Service Coordinator Supervisors: as well as direct supervision to the Children’s Service Coordinator. Potential supervision to the ASD and 688 Coordinators will also be considered. The Clinical Director will be the Intake and Eligibility Liaison and manage the Assignment process for the office. The Clinical Director will also facilitate monthly round table trainings/discussion for the Area Office staff. _Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_ * Manage and support the individuals who are assigned to the call-in list, providing short term case coordination. * Participate in the Area Office RISK process, MASSCAP, tracking and managing HCSIS data, DPPC/Complaint Resolution Team as well as the Legal/Guardianship Process. * Facilitate, and mediate multi-disciplinary meetings compromised of various invested stake holders which may include families, agencies, hospitals, forensic teams, Service Coordinators, Area Office staff and other involved parties. * Consult with agency clinicians and Service Coordinators regarding behavior plans and Positive Behavioral Support. * Act as the liaison to the Metro Region’s FIRST Team. * Will be the liaison for community support agencies involved in crisis management and emergency psychiatric services. * Act as Area Office liaison to other State Agencies, including DMH, DPH, DCF etc. * Facilitate quarterly meetings/trainings for the agencies’ clinicians _ Please Note:_ * Driving, both within and outside of the Charles River West catchment area, will be a necessary part of this position. * Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:45AM to 5:00PM, Days Off: Saturday and Sunday * Interested applicants should be flexible in schedule as there may be occasional nights and weekend meetings with individuals, guardians, families and other agencies. _Preferred Qualifications:_ * Previous experience working with individuals with Intelectual Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. * Ability to listen attentively and respectfully to ascertain the desires and needs of individuals. * Proficiency to facilitate groups with diverse representation. * Capacity to function effectively as member of a team. _About the Agency:_ The Department of Developmental Services is dedicated to creating, in partnership with others, innovative and genuine opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to participate fully and meaningfully in, and contribute to, their communities as valued members. _Benefits and Compensation:_ As an employee of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are offered a great career opportunity influencing a wide-spectrum of services to the diverse populations we serve - but it's more than a paycheck. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE: At least three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience as a clinical social worker after earning a Master's degree in social work. Based on assignment to second-level supervisory positions, at least one year of experience must have been in a supervisory capacity. SUBSTITUTIONS: - A Doctorate in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education, or human services may be substituted for the required nonsupervisory experience on the basis of two years of education for one year of experience. - No substitution will be permitted for the required supervisory experience. One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. REQUIRED EDUCATION: A Master's or higher degree in social work is required. LICENSES: - Licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Social Work is required. - Based on assignment, travel may be required. Those employees who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license or the equivalent from another state.
