The Clinical Training Consultant will provide care management medically oriented clinical consults/guidance within the team and to other area within the health plan. Clinical Training Consultant will focus on supporting member’s medical, behavioral, socioeconomic, and long-term support services needs to promote appropriate utilization of services and improved quality of care. Clinical Training Consultant will coordinate training, job aides, resource tools, manuals, and materials in alignment with evidence-based guidelines and state contract requirements. This position will liaison with all health plan and state partners to help reduce fragmentation within the care management ecosystem.

Working Schedule : Schedule is Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am to 5pm EST.

Primary Responsibilities:

Plan:

  • Conduct training needs analysis by engaging business/process and system key stakeholders and SMEs

  • Identify training goals, dependencies, audience and timelines

  • Collaborate with business/process and system SMEs/stakeholders to gather training content, information

  • Identify the appropriate delivery approaches, media and methodologies

  • Apply principles of adult learning and training best practices to create effective and innovative solutions

  • Anticipate business training needs to proactively develop solutions and training plans

  • Strategize training components needed to adhere to state and/or federal requirements.

Develop:

  • Create core content of course curriculum and materials for varying audiences including beginner, advanced and refresher levels to meet training requirements and business needs

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to develop supporting Resources Documents

  • Keep current on various training delivery techniques, business processes, products and systems, Model of Care, and State contract requirements

Execute:

  • Facilitate virtual live training sessions

  • Ability to effectively manage and support the learning environment by applying learner-centric approaches to promote engagement and active participation by all learners, maintaining a positive and professional learning environment, maintaining control of the training and appropriate response to unforeseen circumstances during delivery

  • Trainings will also include conducting Train-the-Trainer sessions to prepare other Trainers for delivery, and conducting training pilots to obtain stakeholder/SME approvals

  • Facilitate live training sessions throughout the Commonwealth when virtual live training sessions

  • Facilitate Q&A sessions for all Regulatory assessments

Communicate:

  • Act as a liaison between clinical leadership team and Enterprise training and Development.

  • Develop / coordinate communication tools for status updates, milestones, changes, deliverables, etc.

  • Develop and maintain a centralized location for training materials and resources

  • Communicate to managers/directors on new training and developmental expectations for staff

  • Conduct analysis of training outcomes, conduct updates and debriefs with stakeholders to communicate effectiveness of programs/solutions, identify needed changes and incorporate changes

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for all assessments

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree (BA/BS) OR 4+ years of care management experience and/or knowledge (i.e. care coordination, service coordination, case management, etc.) and long term care experience (i.e. home and community based services)

  • 2+ years of experience demonstrating the ability to conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions to prepare for delivery of training solutions and ensure/validate trainer readiness with adult learners via a virtual environment or face to face trainings

  • 2+ years of experience identifying and incorporating needed changes to learning solutions (i.e., processes, procedures, materials, techniques, and curricula) based on measurement/evaluation results

  • 2+ years of experience developing appropriate learning activities based on training designs and learning objectives, and creating supporting materials for learning activities (i.e., agendas, schedules, quick reference guides, handouts, job aids, trainer/learner guides, and audio/visual aids)

  • 1+ years of experience demonstrating data management and/or project management skills and designing user guides, participant / facilitator guides, and job aids

  • 1+ years of experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Office applications, and shared network drives including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite, and SnagIt

  • Must reside in the state of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or New Hampshire with access to reliable transportation and the a bility to travel up to 10% to any state mandated meetings

  • Access to a designated quiet workspace in your home (separated from non-workspace areas) with the ability to secure Protected Health Information (PHI) and or must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to focus activities on a strategic direction and achieve targets

  • Experience working in Managed Care

  • 2+ years of experience having the ability to focus and work effectively in a complex and change-oriented work environment

  • 1+ years of experience working as a case manager for Medicaid

Connecticut and Rhode Island Residents Only : The salary range for Connecticut and Rhode Island residents is $70,200 to $137,800 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
