Fresenius Medical Care North America Director, Business Partner of Communications (Remote) in Waltham, Massachusetts

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Develop, implement, oversee and manage all internal and external corporate communications for Care Delivery in the United States. Develop and maintain strong interactive communication partnerships with global divisions of the company. Align internal, corporate communications with external communications.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership of short- and long-term goals through the use of thoughtful techniques in the communication of the company's mission and core values as a means to implement positive change and/or create organizational structure within Care Delivery in the United States.

  • Serves as a senior-level communications consultant for the business,​ participating with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Develops strategies for direct Care Delivery departments, and contributes to the development of divisional/business unit strategies.

  • Develop and implement integrated internal and external communication plans for Care Delivery in the United States, incorporating all company audiences and customers.

  • Develop and execute U.S. Care Delivery internal communications strategy and programs focused on driving and supporting associate engagement, enhancing associate knowledge and connection to the business.

  • Plans and implements a high level of crisis communication. Oversees crisis communication in all FMCNA facilities and departments, especially regarding interaction with the media and community as needed.

  • Develop written content for internal communications including company announcements, business presentations, articles, talking points, videos, etc. for multiple channels.

  • Ensure that all communications initiatives are aligned with the company brand identity and successfully delivered via appropriate communications channels.

  • Responsible for public relations campaigns and all U.S. Care Delivery public relations activities. Develop and direct strategic public relations plans that effectively communicate to a variety of external audiences and generate positive external responses and awareness.

  • Develop high-quality communications materials and messages aligned with company goals.

  • Establish and implement quality guideline standards through quality design, image and clearly defined messages. Function as communications consultant to other divisions.

  • Significant organizational impact responsible for the overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, expense priority management, and recommending and implementing changes to current methods. Ensures that budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

  • Regularly interacts with executives, senior management, and/or major customers. Interactions frequently require special skills such as negotiating or influencing customers and/or senior level leaders in matters of significance to the organization.

  • Assist with various projects as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:

  • May be responsible for the direct supervision of various levels of Corporate Communications staff.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 10+ years' related experience.

  • 5+ years' experience as a Manager; or 5+ years' experience in a senior managerial role.

  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead cohesive and productive teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.

  • Solid track record of identifying communication opportunities and developing and leading external and internal communications with best-in-class communication practices.

  • Proven ability to work with and effectively influence senior management in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a multi-faceted, deadline-oriented environment within a heavily regulated industry.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment where results are achieved through influence and the incorporation of multiple points of view.

  • Independently motivated, detail oriented and good problem solving ability.

  • Excellent organizational skills, sufficient to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across multiple functions and levels.
