GROUP/DIVISION

The Director of Supply Chain is part of the Cell Culture & Cell Therapy (CCCT) business within our Biologicals and Chemicals Division (BCD), which supports developers and manufacturers of biological-based therapeutics and vaccines with a portfolio of premium solutions and services focused on upstream cell culture and downstream purification.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Supply Chain will mature and evolve the materials management strategy and planning function across all operating groups, divisions and regions. In this role, you will lead, collaborate and drive targeted improvement plans for the Cell Culture, Cell Therapy Business Unit . Additionally, you will play a part in and support the overall supply chain strategy for BCD. You will be accountable for annual improvements in the division’s Customer Allegiance Score for Order Fulfillment (CAS-OF), material availability, delivery and inventory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement the CCCT Supply Chain Strategy in support of the overall BCD strategy.

  • Lead all activities related to supply as the primary owner within the Sales, Operations, and Inventory Planning process for BCD.

  • Develop a standard supply and demand planning approach across the CCCT network of manufacturing sites.

  • Develop a material flow and availability strategy that will measurably increase material availability.

  • Build an inventory planning approach that will balance higher customer service levels at targeted inventory days of supply.

  • Drive established Key Performance Indicators (critical metrics) through implementation of Leading Indicators (Lis) that serve as an early warning of potential performance challenges e.g. inventory health, schedule adherence.

  • Work with cross-functional partners in IT, Procurement, Finance, and Operations to identify and standardize a core set of information system solutions and data analytics platforms.

  • Create and implement a talent development and acquisition strategy to continuously improve the supply chain function.

  • Closely partner with operations leadership to support achievement of Annual Operating Plans.

  • Apply continuous improvement tools and processes to drive performance improvement

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other business management subject area or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of relevant supply chain experience, with at least 7 years of people management experience. Specific experience in Materials Management and Planning. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Lean Manufacturing certification.

  • Six Sigma Green / Black Belt Certification.

  • APICS certification is strongly.

  • Experience in GMP, regulated environment (Life Science, Pharma, Med Device, etc.).

  • Strong business insight and problem-solving capabilities, with direct, applied experience in Supply Chain.

  • Ability to link the critical business supply chain, systems, and processes needed to achieve forecast accuracy.

  • Clear understanding of the order-to-cash process in manufacturing businesses.

  • Knowledge of business systems and information technology for leading sophisticated supply chain activities.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral.

  • Proven track record with a continuous improvement methodology (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma).

  • Strong leader with the ability to influence and lead a large geographically diverse organization.

  • Ability to successfully build clear practical objectives and facilitate career planning for team members.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
