Job Purpose

We have an opportunity for a Lead Talent Acquisition Business Partner to join our team to help change how we recruit in our technology teams. The Lead Talent Acquisition Partner will build effective relationship with the technology leadership team. Through advising, influencing, and driving the right recruitment behaviors you will enable the team to hire great talent at scale. This talent will in-turn produce innovative technology solutions that have a real impact on the world.

In the role you will bring new ways of working that modernize how we approach recruiting. You will understand best practice and will know how to bring people along on the journey to approach talent acquisition with a different mindset. Ideally you will understand the complexity that comes with working in a large organisation, as-well-as experience of working in a smaller tech driven company.

You will drive for results, using your powers of persuasion you will understand how to find and engage with top technology talent who may not otherwise understand the National Grid mission and how we may align with there career aspirations and sense of social responsibility.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, execute and drive the implementation of talent acquisition plans and strategies, assuring a qualified, diverse pool of candidates to fill open positions as well as talent gaps identified through the succession planning process.

  • Identify and source both passive and active candidates through internal and external channels ensuring positions are filled with high caliber individuals.

  • Work collaboratively with business leaders to understand the resourcing needs of the business, execute the Workforce Plan and to ensure candidates meet business needs.

  • Work collaboratively within team to develop marketing campaigns, employee referral methodologies, social media and web outreach, etc.

  • Attract, develop and maintain a “ready now” candidate pool through such means as continuous review of resumes, cold calling recommended external candidates, and career fairs.

  • Screen candidates to ascertain fit to available position using behavioral and competency based interview methodologies. Provide high quality, pre-vetted shortlist of candidates to hiring managers.

  • Fully understand National Grid’s Vision, Business Model, Employee Value Proposition, benefits, and total rewards philosophy to engage candidates.

  • Identify and partner with appropriate resource(s) to implement pre-hire assessment testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business/HR/professional or learning and development areas

  • Minimum of 8+ years experience in Information Technology recruiting experience required

  • Significant experience of recruiting for Information Technology skills, bringing a search first mind set.

  • Experience recruiting for a variety of IT related positions of all experience levels ( Cyber Security, software engineers, developers, program and product managers, IT Analysts, Architects, etc. )

  • Organized and have a sense of urgency and can prioritize your time

  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization and with external clients

  • Ability and willingness to learn the various businesses and incorporate that understanding into the development of effective sourcing strategies

  • Energetic and enthusiastic ambassador of the National Grid brand

  • Strong communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills

  • Tenacious and driven to succeed

  • Ability to multi-task; be flexible and manage changing priorities effectively

  • Knowledge of applicant tracking systems, OFCCP, Federal, State and Local laws and regulations
