This position supports the facilities team under the general direction of the Engineering Manager & Supervisor, assumes responsibility for the proper functioning of all electrical systems through preventative maintenance, repairs and replacement and the installation of new systems. Repairs, installs, replaced and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using hand tools and testing instruments to supply electrical lighting and equipment operations in the portfolio of Class A multi and single tenanted office space.

  • Inspects and tests electrical lighting, signal, communication and power circuits and equipment, using testing instruments, such as ammeter, ohmmeter and volt meter and testing lamp

  • Repairs electrical circuits and equipment. Replaces faulty switches, socket plugs, fuses, insulators and other simple elements of electrical systems.

  • Performs general building maintenance which includes replacement of lights and ballasts.

  • Completes assigned base building and tenant work orders. Reaches out to supervisor for assistance and/or if other resources are needed. Recommends cost saving measures, where appropriate.

  • Tests generators on a weekly basis and under full load once per year to check emergency power source. Be familiar with selected emergency service of portfolio buildings.

  • Depending on the facility’s needs, may perform related general maintenance tasks such as leaking faucets, running toilets, clogged drains, broken belts, fuses, light bulbs, repair beds, repair carpet tears, repair driveways/parking areas, replacing glass windows, ceiling tiles, building scaffolding, concrete forms, assisting other craftsmen in handling materials on major repair or installation projects.

  • MA Electrical license required.

  • 5+ years of electrical and maintenance experience, including working with commercial building equipment.

  • Mechanical aptitude on general building equipment. Demonstrates practical knowledge of building Mechanical, Electrical, and Life Safety Systems. Ability to perform diagnostic troubleshooting on MEP equipment.

  • Knowledge of fire alarm and building automation systems is a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to use power tools.

  • Proven ability to work from blueprints, schematics and diagrams.

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Outlook for email and work order system, preparation of reports and spreadsheets.

  • OSHA training on safety and compliance helpful but not required.

  • Solid interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

The hiring range for this position is $29.28 to $45 per hour. The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience.
