Insight Global Network Security Engineer - Zscaler in Waltham, Massachusetts

Job Description

Our client is a rapidly growing insurance holding company. We are looking for a Network/ Zscaler Security Engineer to join their IT team and support our growing business. The Network Security Engineer will protect the companies network infrastructure against emerging threats, implementing robust security protocols, and support cybersecurity resilience. Their responsibilities will include designing, deploying, and maintaining secure network systems to safeguard our digital assets and operations from evolving cyber risks. The Network Security Engineer should have strong network diagnostic skills, ability to support end users on proxy and/or VPN requests, and Engineer as needed. Having any development and/or scripting experience is important in order to support their lift and shift project.

Responsibilities:

 Develop, implement, and maintain network security policies aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

 Deploy and configure Cisco security appliances, Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Zscaler infrastructure to strengthen the network across the organization.

 Work with cross-functional teams to understand the business and technological needs of unique application infrastructure across a diverse cloud, on premise, and SaaS environment ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.

 Identify areas for improvement in security processes, policies, and technologies and drive initiatives to enhance security effectiveness.

 Deploy, maintain availability of various security technologys including intrusion prevention systems (IPS), web application firewalls (WAF), and provide engineering support to network detection and response solutions.

 Implement and manage network security monitoring tools for real-time threat detection and response.

 Optimize security configurations to support business specific performance needs while retaining resilience against emerging threats.

You should also have strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as a self-starter personality that can work independently and proactively. This is a permanent role and with full remote flexibility looking for this individual to travel once a quarter on- sight. Compensation: $100,000-$222,00

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

7+ years of professional experience in information security, with a focus in network security including firewall and secure perimeter technology.

 Strong hands on experience with Zscaler (ZIA and ZPA)

 Experience with modern Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.

 Strong diagnostic skills

 Experience with broad range of security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, CASB, CSPM, EDR, IDS/IPS, DLP, WAF).

 Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineering, operations and infrastructure teams.

 2-3 years experience working with cloud native networking and security solutions found in Azure, AWS, GCP, etc. Prior experience supporting a lift & shift cloud project null
