Job Description:

-This position is primarily responsible for assisting inbound callers with order creation, providing pricing of medications, facilitating delivery of medication orders, and utilizing resources to transfer callers to appropriate teams such as the pharmacist team for clinical consultation. Additionally, candidates will also

coordinate outbound calls to set up orders as well as inbound calls under direction of call center lead or manager, enter comprehensive notes into the pharmacy computer systems which are part of the permanent patient record, answer questions about available financial options and patient assistance programs, and utilize resources to determine status of patient orders and take appropriate action, including transferring calls to appropriate department or clinical nurse or pharmacist.

Additional Job Requirements:

-Finding orders in multiple stages within pharmacy processing system such as PV1 and Adjudication to

advise patient or order status or issues.

-Contacting patient(s) to make arrangements of financial responsibility & set up delivery

-Utilizing resources to determine status of patient orders and take appropriate action, including

transferring call to appropriate department or clinical nurse or pharmacist

-Obtaining copay collection which includes collection of credit/card and entering into system

  • Follow applicable state and federal laws including but not limited to HIPAA.

-Track refills & schedule accordingly with patients to assure timely delivery

-Ability to de-escalate patient issues and know when to escalate to management.

-Communicate with internal and external business partners about clinics preferably through email

-Phone calls are answered on computer-based software, orders are created on computer-based software.

-Patient interviews are taken on computer based software, so the successful patient care coordinator should be

very comfortable with technology and utilizing many systems at once.

Top Skills Details:

  • Position entails a high call volume, upwards of 100 calls a day (Inbound & Outbound)

  • Ideally looking for someone who is tech savvy, willing to comprehend internal software programs as well as speak with the customer while recording data in the right system.

  • This position does require a high level of empathy/ sympathy. The type of work done in this environment for our patients can be vulnerable and we ask that candidates work with a sense of compassion.

Patient Care Hours:

-The team operates between the hours of 8AM to 8PM, but applicants have to be willing to work two night shifts per pay period.

  • Night Shifts:

  • 10:30am-7:00pm

  • 11:30am-8:00pm

  • Day Shifts:

  • 8:00am-4:30pm

  • 9:00am-5:30pm

  • 9:30am-6:00pm

After an allotted time, candidates will be asked to go on a rotating Saturday schedule every 4 weeks.

  • Saturday Shift: 8:30am-5:00pm

Pay Scale:

  • $15 - $17 depending on experience
