Global Partners LP Payroll Specialist in Waltham, Massachusetts
We're hiring a Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for preparing and processing our payrolls.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for all daily activities relating to the payroll process, which includes the auditing and processing of payroll adjustments, manual checks, voids, reissues, stop payments, direct deposit, employment verifications, and termination checks.
Manage workflow to ensure all timecards and payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately
Review payroll documents for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and Company policies and procedures
Ensure tax compliance in all local jurisdictions
Ensure compliance with Federal, State wage and hour laws
Auditing and administration of PTO and vacation time, ensuring all information is received accurately and timely
Process off-cycle check payments according to company policy and federal and state regulations
Research and verify discrepancies to assist the HR, Benefits and Accounting Departments.
Assist with special projects and ad hoc reports when needed
Assist employees and management with questions, concerns or requests regarding payroll
Perform other job related duties, as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor Degree in either Finance or Accounting
8+ years of recent experience in US payroll processing, accounting, reconciliation and compliance.
Strong communications skills
Experience with Workday payroll required
Knowledge of payroll system reporting such as Workday, HR & Payroll and JDA, preferred.
Proficient Microsoft Excel skills required
Detail oriented and able to work independently
Experience working with Unions a plus
